Dance offers a comprehensive curriculum based on modern and ballet technique supplemented by improvisation, choreography, jazz, hip hop, yoga, Pilates, dance history, anatomy, nutrition, injury prevention, college and career preparation.
In addition to training with High Tech's professional faculty, students will also have the opportunity to study with guest artists and learn legendary choreography.
Dancers will have many opportunities to perform their own work as well as that of their instructor and guest artists throughout the year. At High Tech, dancers grow and develop their artistry and technique in an environment that is challenging, focused and supportive.

Rod Shepard
Head of Music & Audio Technology Department
Rod Shepard is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and arranger, holds a BA in music, and Master in Music & Music Technology. Performance work includes over 20 years as a guitarist/bassist/vocalist. A certified ProTools Operator with Expert-level training, his expertise is in music production/direction on stage and in the studio, with ProTools as the central hub of his own commercial recording studio.
His work includes, but is not limited to production work for theater, and the concert stage as well. Some technical performance work experience includes live sound and live recording at such venues as Les Paul’s Iridium, recording such artists as The Les Paul Trio, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Frank Vignola, Robbie Kreiger of the Doors, Marshal Crenshaw, Anton Fig, Scott Henderson, Jack Wilkins, Valery Ponomarev Big Band, Walter Trout, Terese Geneco Big Band, as well as audio production for studios, radio and television (ESPN, TLC, Discovery Channels).
Combined with his work in band production and arranging for stage and studio, these are all experiences he enjoys sharing in his teaching at High Tech.
