All dance majors will be immersed in a curriculum that meets the NJ and National Education Standards for the Arts as a part of the Career and Technical Education Program. All dance majors will have opportunities to explore various forms of dance, to refine their technique, to perform, and to engage in the process of choreography. Additional curriculum content includes yoga, dance history, anatomy, nutrition, injury prevention, and college and career preparation.
Students across the dance program will work together in various projects and workshops throughout the year, will build relationships with professional guest artists, and will become part of a diverse and supportive community of students, teachers, and professionals who are invested in the art of dance. All dance majors should be passionate about making dance a central part of their high school experience.
